File transmissions support a scheduled extract of collections data by download or system-to-system interface. Unlike online reports for which criteria may be selected at the time the user would like to view data, data from a download is based on criteria and a schedule established in advance by the agency.
TRS will allow an agency to select what will be included in its file transmissions by both content and parameters. Content options will include:
Summary only - deposit level data
Both summary and detail
The parameters that may be selected include:
Frequency of file generation
Selection criteria (ALCs, accounts, date range, collections systems, etc.)
IMPORTANT: TRS XML extracts use FMS Transmission Message schema version 4.3. You may download the files for the 4.3 schema as either a single zipped file, or as individual XSD (XML Schema Design) files.
For agencies interested in establishing a system-to-system interface between TRS and their system, the TRS Team will work with an agency’s Information Technology (IT) staff to arrange for the two systems to communicate directly with each other.
The following are resources for agencies interested in implementing file transmissions.
The TRS XML Extract Files Specification – allows members of the IT staff to understand and process the output that is produced as a result of an agency or other Receiving Trading Partner (RTP) user defining a scheduled extract within TRS. Select here to view the TRS XML Extract Files Specification(1.02 MB).
Three XML files that provide a sample of the structure reported for each the following collections systems: Electronic Check Processing (ECP), Card Acquiring Service (CAS), Pay.gov, Credit Gateway FEDWIRE, Credit Gateway ACH. Specific values have been replaced with the description of the data that would be reported as meta data information. This may help agencies understand what data is reported in each data element depending on the collections system and the expected structure. Please note that these are just samples. They do not provide every scenario that can be reported and they do not have any agency-specific values.
The XSD – XML Schema Definitions for TRS-Maintained Sub-schema supplies all of the information needed for understanding and processing the TRS-defined sub-schema, referred to as the TRS Trading Partner Agreement. This is an XSD document to be used in conjunction with the XSD files available on the FMS Enterprise Data Architecture Web site. If you have problems viewing the XSD document through your Web browser, click here to download XML Notepad 2007, a free XML reader available from Microsoft. Select here to view the XSD.
To begin a system-to-system interface between TRS and your agency, please fill out the Request Form and send it to the TRS call Center at TRS@pnc.com.
