Latest TRS News

Overview

TRS is a collections reporting tool, supplying the latest information on deposits and detail of collections transactions to federal agencies. The system will allow financial transaction information from all collections systems and settlement mechanisms to be exchanged in a single system.

TRS is a key component of the Collections and Cash Management Modernization (CCMM) initiative, a multi-year effort to simplify and modernize FMS’s and the U.S. Treasury’s collections and cash management programs.

TRS has been designed to be the primary mechanism for collections data reporting. It contains detailed and summarized records of all revenue collections transactions processed by FMS systems.

TRS will replace the deposit reporting functions of CA$HLINK II when CA$HLINK II is shut down at the end of 2012. In addition, TRS will eventually replace the collections reporting capabilities provided to agencies from financial institutions and channel applications.

During the course of 2012, the primary focus will be on shutting down CA$HLINK II at the end of the year. Most of the collections information is already available in TRS. Throughout the year, the remainder of the collections information currently available in CA$HLINK II will be made available in TRS. Throughout the coming months, you should begin to rely less and less on CA$HLINK II, and begin using TRS for more and more of your daily collections reporting activities.

Once CA$HLINK II is shut down at the end of 2012, FMS will begin to work towards transitioning users away from other source systems and toward using TRS for all of their collections reporting.
