Important Change for the Treasury Financial Manual

On October 7, 2012, the Secretary of the Treasury consolidated the Financial Management Service and the Bureau of the Public Debt into the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal Service). The Fiscal Service publishes the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), the Department of the Treasury’s official publication for the financial accounting and reporting of all receipts and disbursements of the federal government.

The Fiscal Service has migrated the TFM to a cloud-based, Web content management platform that has the TFM content in a similar format, but has a fresh look, is easy to navigate, and contains more powerful search capabilities.

You can access the new TFM at http://tfm.fiscal.treasury.gov. Please update your bookmarks with the new address. If you have any questions, please contact the TFM team at tfm@fms.treas.gov.

Accessing Microsoft Files Using Internet Explorer 8

Internet Explorer 8 users: If you are experiencing issues opening and viewing files, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Media Player, follow the steps below to save and properly view the document(s).

1. Right click on the file to view/save.
   
   
2. Click "Save Target As..."
   
   
3. A dialog save box will appear.
   
   
4. Select a location to save the file, such as the Desktop.
   
   
5. Click "Save".
   
   
6. When the download is completed, click "Open" (if dialog box is displayed) or open the file from the saved location.

Files can also be viewed without issue using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
